1. Who is responsible
Number Cipher (the "Game") is run by Zapcz Inc, Sweden ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the limited data described below. Contact: zapczmail@gmail.com.
2. The short version
- No accounts, no sign-up, no email addresses collected.
- Your game progress and stats are stored only in your own browser, on your own device.
- We do not use analytics or tracking cookies at this time.
- We do not sell your data.
3. What is stored on your device
The Game uses your browser's local storage to remember your progress. This data never leaves your device and we cannot see it. It is strictly necessary for the Game to work, so it does not require consent under the ePrivacy rules.

You can delete this data at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Doing so resets your stats and streak.
4. What our servers and host see
The Game is a static website hosted by Cloudflare. Like almost every web server, the host may automatically log technical data when you load the page, such as your IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type, and referrer. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and prevent abuse. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). These logs are kept by the host for a short period under its own retention rules. We do not use them to identify individual players.
5. Sharing your result
The "Copy result" button copies text (puzzle number, score, and colored squares) to your clipboard. Nothing is sent to us. Where you paste it is up to you.
6. Third parties and advertising
The Game does not currently load external scripts, fonts, analytics, or ads.
We may show advertising in the future to fund the Game. If we do, our ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, EEA, and UK), we will ask for your consent through a consent banner before any non-essential cookies are set, and you will be able to change your choice at any time. We will update this policy and list the partners before ads go live.
7. How long we keep data
We keep no player data ourselves. Data in your browser stays until you delete it. Host logs are kept according to the host's retention policy.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or move your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we do not hold data that identifies you, we may not be able to link a request to you, but we will help where we can. You can also lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY, imy.se) or your local data protection authority.
9. Children
The Game is a general puzzle game, but we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Our host may process technical logs in countries outside the EEA. Where that happens, transfers rely on safeguards required by the GDPR, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes
We may update this policy, for example if we add ads or analytics. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If the changes are significant, we will make that clear on the site.
